Flat betting. What is the essence of the strategy?

Flat strategy in sports betting

There are a lot of different betting strategies in betting today that should theoretically benefit the player. There are variants that are untested and unproven, but there are also ones that have already proven themselves. For example, we should consider the flat system. It is one of the most popular betting systems at the moment.  It came into betting from other gambling games, and is now used by both the beginner and the experienced player.

The essence of the game strategy

When playing Flat, you need to be prepared for the possibility of ending up on a long losing streak, but still losing a big chunk of your pot. But it’s especially important for any new player who hasn’t yet figured out all the ins and outs of the game. So it’s worth learning everything.

The essence of the strategy is that the betting amount remains fixed and the size of the pot does not play any role. Of course, you have to bet in certain portions, often between 1 and 5%. That is why it is called a fixed-bet strategy.

Its peculiarity is that one can minimise the loss of the pot. But in order to make a profit, it is necessary to have at least 65% of effective bets.

Different types of flat bets

As with other types of betting, this one also has its own varieties, as it is in demand among punters. And it’s worth sorting it out in more detail:

  1. academic.  The game is the easiest and safest, because the bettor only needs to bet 1% to 3% of the total pot at all times. Of course, the player decides everything on his own. It is only important to keep to the betting limits and not to go beyond them.  And this type is accompanied by minimal risks, even with a long series of failures.
  2. Static. Probably the most boring type, because the bet size does not change, and it will always be 1% of the pot. No matter how sure the player is of the outcome, the bet is the same. Of course, the risks here are minimal, but the chance of a big score is also small.
  3. chaotic. This variant is the most interesting, as there is simply no clear line of conduct. A player may bet 5% of the pot at one moment, and 17 or 20% the next.  But here most often bets go to a certain tournament or trend. But to make money at one point, you have to stop and switch to a less risky bet.
  4. aggressive. This variant is more suitable for an experienced bettor, as here the size of the bet varies from 4 to 7%. That means bigger risks are involved and a bigger pot is needed. But the chance of winning big money goes up, too.  Here it is easier to make a fortune, but one can also lose everything fast in a long series of failures.

It is up to the player to choose the best strategy for himself. In any case, you need to weigh up the pros and cons to be fully aware of how to act.

Advantages of

Mostly this type of betting is chosen because of its simplicity. Any model is very easy to understand, even for the beginner. In addition, the risks when playing are kept to a minimum. In the case of a black streak, the chance of losing the whole pot is minimal.

On the downside, patience is required for the game. And you can’t make a quick buck on the betting.
